3-Day for the Cure

As I mentioned in my last post, I recently participated in the

  Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.

 Each year I participate in this event, 

I learn more about the power of hope and the strength and resiliency carries with them.  

It is truly inspiring!

Over the past two years, I've been very lucky to be on the Starbucks team 

(my walking mate, Jennie, works there). 

These ladies have not only provided fabulous support through all 60 miles of the walk, 

but have helped me big time when it comes to fundraising!  

So thankful to know you, Suzie, Jun, Tanhya, and Jennie!

P.S.  Yes, I realize I'm in a bit of a swirl design rut, but I just love how they turn out!  I promise some new fun designs for the Halloween season!

PINK!

Following my entirely PINK weekend walking the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure,

 I was going through pink withdrawals, so I though I'd make some pink cookies!  

These were really the first cookies I've made since I moved to Seattle and 

I could not find anything I needed!  As I unpacked, I must have shoved all my cookies making supplies into random corners, because it took FOREVER to find anything!  

Oh well!  Now I'm all organized and ready to make the next batch!

Picnic Time!

I put these cookies together for my dad's company's summer picnic.

Now, clearly you can't tell from the pictures, but these cookies are actually PURPLE and green.

Yep, purple, not blue!

I can't seem to make a purple cookie without the frosting photographing like it's either blue or black! 

Oh well, at least they still look pretty!

Ho, Ho, Ho!

Okay, there are no Santa cookies in this post, but "Ho, Ho, Ho!" was the first Christmasy title that came to mind.  I made these festive holiday cookies for the December staff meeting at Empowering, Inc. Services.

I just shipped a whole box of holiday cookies off to Kansas City, Kansas!  I just love how biscuit cutters make those cute scalloped edges!  Too bad I'm in the middle of finals and can't just bake the days away!

Healing Hearts Northwest Wine and Chocolate Gala

Healing Hearts Northwest had another spectacular fundraiser tonight...wine tasting at Lincoln Center!  The event was full of yummy desserts, delicious wine, and hundreds of generous people making sure that HHW's next trip to Rwanda is a success!

Healing Hearts Northwest

Flashback to the first official cookies from Jujubee's Bakery!  As I mentioned in that first post, my aunt and uncle are part of an organization, called Healing Hearts Northwest, that does medical missions to Rwanda.  They perform dozens of much needed heart surgeries each year and work with the local community to build their medical programs.  I brought back the Rwandan flags, Africas with the heart over Rwanda, and the swirly hearts for a fundraiser they're having this weekend.  They put so much work into fundraising to make sure they can continue to help the people of Rwanda, so I'm more than happy to make them cookies any time they need.

I think the flags turned out mucho better this time.  The lines are much straighter and much more precise.  I also decided to line the Africa cookies with color, instead of white this time, which I'm happy with. It's kind of funny...if you look at the Africa cookies for too long, they start to look like Great Lakes....hehe (Can you tell I've stayed up way too late baking?!). The trickiest part of this whole order was definitely getting all the cookies to look cute in one big box.

Team Child Thank You's

I was asked to make some cookies for the non-profit I worked at last summer, TeamChild.  The staff attorney there had an opportunity to meet with some members of the local community and wanted a unique...and yummy...way to thank them for their time.  Jujubee's Bakery to the rescue!  As you can see below, I added the TeamChild logo to a second tag to add a little flair.  Each little box has three sugar cookies in it...aren't they cute?!

Lakeside Picnic

I made these cookies a couple of months ago for a picnic that my grams and gramps were attending.  I finally remembered to ask my mom for the picture from her camera, so I'm only now getting around to posting it!

I just finished this batch of cookies for my friend, Lauren, who wanted to send a gift to a former professor from the University of Washington.  This professor was kind enough to help her get her wonderful new job as an activities coordinator at the University of Oregon.  Lauren's former professor has also just started a new job at Wheaton College, so she also wanted to send him a dozen cookies for good luck. Lauren let me pick the design so I went with circles (because they're easy to ship) and my classic swirls and plaids (because I know Lauren loves 'em). For the colors I went with UW purple and gold and Wheaton College blue and orange.

Sailboats!

I made these sailboat cookies for my best friend's bachelorette party this weekend.  We went to Vancouver to celebrate her impending nuptials.  They were the perfect snack while we opened presents.  Since the rain forced us to be inside most of the weekend, we demolished the cookies in no time.  My friends were all very excited to hear about my new business proposal too.
