The Summer of Peach Pies

I can't even count how many batches of these peach pies I made this summer!
There are two reasons they were pretty much constently popping out of the oven:
1.  So easy to make!
2.  Sooooo yummmmy!
Really, they're so easy!  Just chop up some peaches,
throw in some sugar, flour, and vanilla to coat the peaches...
exact measurements not necessary...
fold 'em into some dough (no, I did not make the dough myself...
that would make them NOT easy)...and voila... delicious peach pies!
Throughout the summer, there were boysenberry and cherry varieties as well,
but peach was the stand-out favorite!

Picnic Time!

I put these cookies together for my dad's company's summer picnic.
Now, clearly you can't tell from the pictures, but these cookies are actually PURPLE and green.
Yep, purple, not blue!
I can't seem to make a purple cookie without the frosting photographing like it's either blue or black!
Oh well, at least they still look pretty!

Going to the Chapel!

My wonderful friend, Sheena, is getting married this weekend!
My mom and I were so lucky to be part of her bridal brunch yesterday morning.
The proceeds from these cookies will be donated to The Mission Continues,
a non-profit organization started by her fiance, Eric.

Happy Birthday, Judge!

This summer, I've been interning with Judge Plese in the Spokane Superior Court.
It's been a fantastic experience, mostly because Judge Plese is so fantastic!
We celebrated her birthday this week with a quick party between trials.
Happy birthday, Judge Plese!

50 years old! YIKES!

This weekend, we celebrated my Uncle Marco's 50 birthday!
Yes, I did say 50!
He's the youngest of my madre's four siblings.
So, needless to say, they're all feeling a bit old right now, hehe.
Even though he's 50, I'm fairly certain he's the youngest 50 year-old you'll ever meet.
In fact, my Uncle Dave bought him a fancy-pants skateboard for his birthday.
He's working on his first trick:
DOING A HANDSTAND ON THE SKATEBOARD!
How many 50 year-olds do you know who can do that?!
It was really wonderful to get to celebrate his big 5-0 with the whole family.
Happy birthday, Uncle Marco!

Happy Father's Day!

Oh, hello there!
Happy Father's Day!
Did you know I have one of the best fathers in the world?
Well, I really do!
These cookies are supposed to look like pieces of wood,
but I'm not sure how well that worked out!
I also made some cookies for my grandpa because, well, he's the best too!

Congratulations Aaron and Timmers!

These are my friends Aaron Bear and Timmers.
Okay, their real names are Aaron and Timothy,
but they prefer to be called Aaron Bear and Timmers.
Okay, it's just me
...and their mom too...
who prefers to call them Aaron Bear and Timmers.
Anyway, these two lovely brothers both received their backelor's degrees this last weekend!
Congratulations, boys!
Timmers graduated from San Francisco State University and
Aaron graduated from the University of Idaho.
I made cookies for them both in their school colors.
Purple and gold (okay, it's really just yellow...but I tried to put some sparklies in to make more goldy)
for Timmers and black and gold for Aaron.
Hope you had a lovely Memorial Day weekend!

Lemons and Limes

Here Comes the Bride!

My friend, Amy, is getting married!
We had a work bridal shower for her today at work.
I attempted to make these cookies and cupcakes to match her wedding colors.
The cupcakes looked pretty good...the yellow on the cookies, not so much.
It kind of looked like a sugar cookie with a piece of American cheese on top.
Perhaps that's why I didn't take a picture of 'em :)
But I can assure you it didn't take like American cheese....just yummy sugar cookies!

I love mint cookies!

These Double Chocolate Mint Chip Cookies are the best midnight snack!
So yummy!
They're the most delicious right out of the oven!
Poppin' 'em in the microwave for a few seconds also does the trick!

Did you notice that these pictures were taken outside?!
Yes, it's finally sunny enough to take pictures outside!
Yes, this was the first week that the weather in Spokane got over 60 degrees!
Yes, I'm very excited about it!
